WoW Forever lets the Horde play an Undead Paladin. Here are the racials, the new skills, Bandarion Keep, the Risen Charger and the epic mount quest.

In WoW Forever you can play an Undead Paladin, a race and class combo that was not possible in Classic. I spent some time with one in the beta and put together ten things I think you should know before you roll one. Each one is short, so you can jump to whatever you care about.

Touch of the Grave

The Forsaken get some new racials, and Touch of the Grave is the first one. It has a 5% chance to drain health from your target, and the amount is up to 5% of your maximum health. At 0:17 I zoom in on the tooltip so you can read it yourself.

Will of the Forsaken and Cannibalize

You still get Will of the Forsaken, which instantly removes charm, fear and sleep effects. Cannibalize has changed. It now restores 7% of your total health and also 7% of your total mana every 2 seconds for 10 seconds. On a paladin that mana part is a nice bonus.

The Horde's Only Paladin

This makes the Undead the only race that can be a paladin for the Horde. That also means a lot of people are going to pick it. The starter area was already busy with every other undead class questing there, and with all the paladins added on top it got really hard to get tags on some of the kills. Expect some competition early on.

The Undead Paladin Starting Story

Undead Paladins get their own starting story. It begins with a quest called Rediscovering the Light, and it kind of tells the story of how the Forsaken and the Light are tied together. You don't wait long for it:

  1. Pick up Rediscovering the Light in the Deathknell starting area.
  2. Already at level 2 or 3, the quest sends you out to heal injured Deathguards.
  3. Heal them with Holy Light until the objective is done.

Holy Strike and the Other New Skills

Paladins have a few more skills in WoW Forever than they had in Classic. One you can learn early is Holy Strike, an instant strike that causes 25% weapon damage plus an additional 2 to 4 Holy damage. The tooltip is up at 1:50.

The Adventure Camp

This one isn't just for paladins, every class gets it. Here is how the camp works:

  • Press X to sit down next to the campfire.
  • After a one minute timer you get a rested buff.
  • Other players can put down items at the camp for additional benefits.
  • You can craft while you're sitting there.

They changed this recently during the beta, so I hope all of that stays. Maybe it even gets better before release.

Bandarion Keep, the Undead Paladin Hub

Undead Paladins get their own city, or hub, which is Bandarion Keep. It has its own quest chain for Undead Paladins, which I think is pretty cool. You also get your own paladin trainer, and there are a bunch of Undead Paladins guarding the place and training for their fights. It gives the class a home that feels like it belongs to them.

The Risen Charger at the Stables

There is a Stable Master at the keep, and it looks like Undead Paladins can get their own mount. I haven't verified this, so take it with a grain of salt. But look at it at 3:11. A Risen Charger. It looks so cool.

The Level 60 Epic Mount Quest

Blizzard has announced a separate level 60 epic mount quest for Forsaken Paladins. At level 60, if you have the gold, you'll be able to get your own epic mount. The story should follow Retribution, and that is pretty much all we know right now. It's not something we can test in the beta, so I'll be checking it out once WoW Forever releases.

So, are you going to play an Undead Paladin when WoW Forever comes out? Let me know in the comments, and if you've heard any interesting facts about it that you want me to look into, tell me those too.
