Torvin's Logbook for WoW Forever: Every Tab of My Addon

Torvin's Logbook is a mod I made for World of Warcraft Forever that lets you track everything you do, from loot and places to auction house prices. I go through every tab and what it does, so you know what you're getting before you install it.

How to install Torvin's Logbook

The addon is on CurseForge and on my own site, torvins.net. Installing it is simple:

1. Download it from CurseForge or the download page on torvins.net.
2. Add it to your AddOns folder.
3. That's it. It's installed.

Characters overview

The first tab is Characters. It gives you an overview of all your characters: how much gold they have, where they are, what gear they're wearing and what stats they have.

Bags & Bank search

The second tab lets you view and search the bags and bank of all your characters at the same time. If you've ever logged through four alts looking for one stack of cloth, this one is for you.

The Professions tab shows every profession on every character. For each recipe you see the cost of the resources and whether you'll make a profit or a loss based on the latest auction house prices. There's a sub-tab with the best recipes for leveling up, based on cost and profit. Another sub-tab looks at all your professions together and finds the most lucrative crafts.

Reputation and quest history

The Reputation tab tracks all reputations across all characters. Nothing fancy.

The Progress tab tracks level, quests, achievements, titles and known recipes across your characters. Its quest sub-tab is one I like a lot. It lists every quest you've done, how much XP it gave, any currency or item rewards, where you completed it and what level your character was at the time.

Rares, loot and drop chances

Here you can track rare mobs and see a loot log for anything rollable. There's also a list of drops per mob, so you get a better idea of the chances of a specific item dropping. I'll be honest, it took me several takes to get that last sentence out. I couldn't talk that day.

Gold tracking graph

The Gold tab tracks gold earned or lost per session and draws a graph of your gold over time. Hover over a session to see what the gold was spent on or earned from.

Auction house prices and selling margins

The Auctions tab has a few parts:

• Your active auctions.
• A Prices tab with everything listed on the auction house. The AH is scanned automatically every time you visit, unless you turn that setting off.
• Search on the Prices tab, handy when you want the price of one specific item.
• A Selling tab where you set default margins to post items at. Both positive and negative currency values work, and so do percentage margins.

Tracking rares and alerts

On the Tracking tab you pick items, rares or creatures you're looking for, and the addon gives you a chat or on-screen alert when one is detected nearby. You can filter by known items or type in free text and the addon searches for it automatically.

Planning routes and shopping lists

The last tab is Plan. You build a route by picking your current location or a spot on the map, and add a note about what to do there. There's also a Notes tab for plain notes, and a Shopping tab for things you need to buy. Shopping items can be buy once or top up, so you can see when you're running low on things like ammo.

Tooltips and profession info

Outside the main window, the addon adds small bits of info to the game itself. The profession window shows cost, value and profit or loss for each item. Item tooltips show the auction house price next to the vendor price, where you got the item and how many you have in total. I also added vendors to the tooltip, because I sometimes forget I can buy certain items cheaper straight from a vendor.

Companion app and JSON export

There's an optional companion app for Windows on torvins.net. It syncs your character data to the website so you can manage things when the game isn't open. You can also export everything about all your characters as a single JSON file and use it for other projects.
